Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of PillsCircle. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these Terms. This is a starting draft and may be updated as the product evolves.

1. What PillsCircle is

PillsCircle is a medication reminder and logging tool. It sends reminders to a person you set up and records when doses are marked as taken, so linked caregivers can see adherence.

PillsCircle is not a medical device. It does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Always follow the guidance of a qualified healthcare provider.

2. Reminders are not a guarantee — the caregiver is responsible

PillsCircle only helps caregivers remember medications. It does NOT guarantee, and cannot guarantee, that any dose is actually taken. Making sure a medication is taken is the responsibility of the caregiver and the person being cared for — not of this application. Our role is limited to sending reminders and recording what is logged. PillsCircle is not responsible for any missed, late, skipped, or untaken dose, or for any consequence arising from it. Hands-on care and in-person attention are essential when caring for older adults; PillsCircle is a support tool, never a substitute for human supervision.

Acceptable use and your responsibilities

• You are responsible for the accuracy of the medications, schedules, and contact details you enter.
• Reminders are a convenience, not a guarantee. You must independently verify that doses are taken and never rely solely on PillsCircle.
• PillsCircle is not for emergencies. In a medical emergency, call your local emergency number.
• You must have permission to add and contact any person you set up reminders for.
• You may not misuse, disrupt, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the service.

3. Text message (SMS) program

PillsCircle sends medication reminder texts to an elder and missed-dose alert texts to caregivers, only after explicit opt-in. By adding a phone number and ticking the consent checkbox, you confirm that the owner of that number agreed to receive these texts from PillsCircle. Messages are transactional and sent according to the dose schedule you configure.

Message and data rates may apply, and message frequency depends on the dose schedule. You can opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message; reply HELP for help. See our Privacy Policy for how we handle phone numbers and consent.

4. Subscriptions and billing

• Free trial: new accounts start with a 14-day free trial of the Family plan, with no credit card required.
• Free: after the trial, core reminder features for one family member and one medication, with one caregiver, at no cost.
• Family: $4.99 per month or $29.99 per year, billed through Stripe.
• You can cancel at any time from your billing settings. Cancellation stops future charges; you keep access until the end of the current billing period.
• No refunds. Payments already made are non-refundable, except where required by law.

5. Disclaimer of warranties

PillsCircle is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that reminders will always be delivered on time or without interruption.

6. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, PillsCircle and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss arising from a missed, delayed, or undelivered reminder or from reliance on the service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service will not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

7. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.

8. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date above. Continued use of PillsCircle after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
