About PillsCircle
PillsCircle is a medication reminder and logging tool for families. It lets you make sure an aging parent takes their medication — without asking that parent to download an app, create an account, or learn anything new.
The problem we kept running into
Roughly half of people who take medication for a long-term condition don't take it as prescribed, and the rate is highest among older adults juggling several prescriptions. For the adult child trying to help from across town — or across the country — the hard part usually isn't the pillbox. It's not knowing. Did Mom take her blood pressure pill this morning? You can't see it, so you text to ask, and the asking slowly turns into nagging.
Most reminder apps answer the wrong half of that problem. They ask the parentto install software, sign in, and tap through menus — which is exactly the thing an 78-year-old who isn't comfortable with apps won't do. The reminder that needs the least technology lands on the person least likely to use it.
What we built instead
PillsCircle puts the setup on the caregiver and the simplicity on the parent. You add the medication and the schedule in about two minutes. At the right time, your parent gets a normal text message with a photo of the pill and one big button: I took it. They tap it once. There is nothing to install and no account to create. The moment they confirm, it shows up on your dashboard.

What PillsCircle is not
We're careful about this. PillsCircle helps you send reminders and keep a record of what was confirmed. A tapped button is a timestamped signal — far better than guessing — but it is not proof a pill was swallowed, and it is not medical advice. PillsCircle is a reminder and logging tool, not a medical device, and it doesn't replace guidance from a doctor or pharmacist.
